President’s Message
Hello King Harbor Marlin Club Members,
Spring seems to have sprung and we have had some beautiful and very fishable days as of late. The water is starting to warm up and the Yellows, Seabass, and Halibut are really starting to show their faces after what seems and eternity of cold water thanks to our unwelcome icy cold girlfriend “La Nina”.
We have had two great tournaments so far this year with the Surf Fishing Tournament and Halibut Tournament. We will have full Tournament details from Tournament Director Don Butts in this newsletter. We also have some great tournaments coming up in the next few months and are expecting great fishing.
I have some new Board of Directors members to introduce:

This is going to be an amazingly full year of fun and fishing with the King Harbor Marlin Club. We have a bunch of new members, great speakers lined up for our General Meetings, and the dinners have been top notch. Add fish that want to bite and Marlin that want to get their rear ends up our way and this could be the most fun filled season we have had 2009!!!
Please come join us for the General Meetings, sign up for some tournaments, and get in on the fun!!

May General Meeting
We have our next General Meeting scheduled for Wednesday May 8th at 7pm at the
Redondo Beach Yacht Club.
Along with our great dinner and tournament updates, we're doubling up on our speakers.
Leading off will be Sam from Baja Fish Gear with the latest on their services and products, followed by Brandon Hayward, author of the recently-published book "The Local Angler", who will share his tips and tricks for nailing the local seabass.
Please come and join us for a great evening of eating, learning, and camaraderie!
